LOAD ON MUSCLES
DESCRIPTION

This device forces your biceps to work in isolation and prevents you from slacking off. It is better to lower the bar slowly, as there is a risk of injuring your elbows. In general, I do not recommend doing this exercise frequently due to its increased risk of injury.

Nuances and mistakes

1. Do not lower the bar all the way down. That is, do not fully extend your arms. Leave a slight angle in the elbow joints. This will reduce the risk of injury.

2. You should adjust the stand for yourself so that its top part is approximately at the middle of your chest. It can be slightly lower, but not higher. This again relates to the risk of injury.

3. It’s better to have an assistant load and unload the weight, especially if it is heavy. It is quite inconvenient to lift the bar from this position on your own, as you could strain your tendons.

4. Do not fully bend your arms at the elbows. This will reduce the efficiency of the exercise. Your forearm at the top position should slightly miss the perpendicular position relative to the floor.

5. Do not perform this exercise if you have any elbow pain, even if it does not hurt specifically during this exercise. Additionally, it is more comfortable to do bicep curls on a Scott bench with a curl bar.

6. Remember, for variety, you can also perform this exercise with a dumbbell.

7. The Scott bench is also known as the preacher bench or preacher curl bench.
