DESCRIPTION
This is a good alternative to the standing barbell press for those who experience back issues. It's also suitable for beginners and can serve as a "finisher" at the end of a workout. The elbows should be directed along the line of movement (slightly forward). Nuances and Mistakes 1. A quality machine has a handle for adjusting the weight. It's very inconvenient to lift the handles from the extreme bottom position. Additionally, it's preferable for there to be different handle positions that mimic the wrist rotation during a similar dumbbell exercise. 2. You should press to complete extension. There is no need to pause at the bottom. Lower the weight and immediately press it back up with a spring-like motion. 3. Your chest should be open, shoulder blades squeezed together, and shoulders retracted back. 4. This exercise is not foundational, even though it mimics foundational exercises. 5. Your pelvis and shoulder blades should be pressed against the back support, with a slight arch in your lower back. 6. Choose a weight that allows you to perform at least 6-8 repetitions. 7. It’s better to work through a full range of motion and lower as much as possible, unless you have a shoulder injury. ANALOGUES
