LOAD ON MUSCLES
DESCRIPTION

This is a good, not overly complicated exercise. The arm is slightly bent at the elbow. At the top position, the elbow should be directed back and slightly upward. Try not to raise the shoulder.

Nuances and Mistakes

1. It’s crucial to keep your torso still. Your chest should be open and your shoulder blades squeezed together. The wrist should be raised to shoulder level or slightly higher.

2. A common mistake is letting the elbow drop during the movement. In the top position, the elbow should be at the same level as the wrist and pointing backward, not downward.

3. Your arm at the elbow should remain slightly bent at all times. This will protect your elbow from injury and help better engage the medial deltoid.

4. However, if you bend your arm too much, the range of motion will shorten, significantly reducing the exercise's effectiveness.

5. As an alternative, you can do this exercise standing with one dumbbell. In this case, the load on the shoulders will be uneven—minimal at the bottom and maximal at the top. In contrast, with a crossover, the load remains consistent throughout the entire range of motion.
