DESCRIPTION
If you perform push-ups with a wide grip, the chest will be worked more. However, I do not recommend this. As a foundational exercise for the chest, it is not suitable, and it is very easy to sustain an injury. So, keep your grip narrower and your elbows close to your body. Let’s focus on training the triceps! And there should be no abrupt movements. This exercise places significant stress on the shoulder ligaments, so it carries potential risks. Stay vigilant! Nuances and Mistakes 1. It is advisable to lower yourself to the point where your shoulder is at the same level as your elbow or lower. 2. If you find it difficult to perform at least 6 standard push-ups, have someone assist you by pushing your legs. This will help you learn to perform dips more quickly. 3. If you are already doing dips with added weight, make sure to perform the first set without weights as a warm-up. Remember that it is very easy to injure your shoulder in this exercise if you do not warm up properly. 4. To better engage the triceps, the bars should be narrower, and your elbows should be drawn back. To focus more on the chest, the bars should be wider, and the elbows should be spread out to the sides. However, the wider the bars and elbows are, the more load is placed on the tendons surrounding the shoulder. 5. I consider dips on parallel bars to be a foundational exercise for the triceps. Therefore, if you want to focus on triceps training, include this exercise at the beginning of your workout rather than at the end. 6. If you are doing dips with added weight, choose a weight that allows you to perform at least 5-6 repetitions. There is no need to test your limits with 1-2 repetitions at maximum weight, as this places too much stress on the shoulder ligaments, and attempting maximum weights is too dangerous. ANALOGUES
