DESCRIPTION

Of all the leg raises, this one is perhaps the easiest. The smaller the angle at the knee joints, the more difficult the exercise becomes. Raising the pelvis at the end of the movement will engage the rectus abdominis more intensely.

Nuances and mistakes

1. You can perform this exercise on the floor or on a bench. The main thing is to have something to hold onto behind you for stability.

2. Your legs should be slightly bent. Significantly bent legs make the exercise easier. However, you should not fully straighten your legs either.

3. If you also lift your pelvis at the top position, the entire core will engage, not just the lower part.

4. As an alternative, you can perform this exercise on an inclined bench with your head up. The higher the angle, the more challenging it becomes.

5. If you want your abs to work harder, do not fully extend your legs at the bottom; keep them slightly bent at all times.

6. After lifting your pelvis, you can hold it for a second or perform a few small pulses.
