LOAD ON MUSCLES
DESCRIPTION

As with the standing pull, the principles are the same. However, the lying pull alleviates excess strain on the leg muscles and spinal extensors, allowing you to focus solely on the lat muscles. It is a very convenient and effective exercise.

Nuances and Mistakes

1. One of the biggest advantages of this exercise is that it completely eliminates the load on the spine. Therefore, if you have contraindications for such loads and cannot perform pull-ups, this exercise is indispensable for you.

2. It’s very convenient if the machine has rotating handles. This will allow you to turn your wrists so that your palms face backward at the bottom and inward at the top, promoting a stronger stretch and contraction of the lat muscles.

3. You can also use this machine for dumbbell rows or with a single dumbbell. This is particularly relevant for those with back issues.

4. The wider the grip you take, the more strain will be placed on the outer part of the lats, contributing to their width. Conversely, a narrower grip will load the inner part of the lats (the part closer to the spine).

5. At the top of the movement, be sure to squeeze your shoulder blades together and lift your shoulders upward. At the bottom, the opposite applies: lower your shoulders and slightly hunch your back.

6. Try to keep your elbows close to your torso to engage your back muscles as much as possible.
