LOAD ON MUSCLES
DESCRIPTION

The wider the grip, the more the outer fibers of the lats are engaged. You can also pull with a supinated grip, which will involve the biceps more. At the bottom position, it is essential to arch your back as if welcoming the handle with your chest, while at the top position, you should lean forward instead.

Nuances and Mistakes

1. When pulling upward, it’s advisable to lean your body slightly forward to stretch the working muscles. During the downward movement, you should arch your back, squeeze your shoulder blades together, and lift your chest upward. A slight backward lean of the torso is acceptable.

All of this is done to achieve a stronger stretch and contraction of the lat muscles.

2. This variation places more load on the back (the lats and the upper back). In this case, your grip should be wider than shoulder-width, but not excessively wide. The width should be about 1.5 times shoulder width.

3. If you are capable of performing pull-ups, the upper pulley row will be a good complement to them. Choose a weight that allows you to perform at least 8 repetitions with correct form.

4. You can use straps to attach to the handle. This will relieve the strain on your forearms, allowing you to offload the arms and focus the effort on your back muscles.

5. Mentally concentrate on your shoulder blades. Aim to pull more with your shoulder blades rather than your arms.
