FOR BEGINNERS
For men: 10 - 15 repetitions 25 - 30 kg. 2 - 3 sets. For women: 10 - 15 repetitions 15 - 20 kg. 2 - 3 sets. LOAD ON MUSCLES
DESCRIPTION
This exercise is excellent for stretching and effectively working the lats. At the bottom position, arch your back while meeting the handle with your chest; at the top, lean slightly forward. This will enhance the effects of the exercise. Nuances and Mistakes 1. This variation of the row is quite convenient and can be performed by people with any level of joint mobility. Additionally, it better targets the central part of the back, engaging not only the lats but also the teres and infraspinatus muscles. 2. At the bottom position, it’s essential to arch your back, squeeze your shoulder blades together, and lift your chest up as if you are meeting the handle with your chest. At the top, you should lean your torso forward to better stretch the muscles. 3. If you are unable to perform pull-ups, this exercise can help you learn them more quickly since it simulates the motion of a pull-up. Choose a weight that allows you to perform at least 8 repetitions. 4. Alternatively, you can perform the row with a wide parallel grip. For this, you will need a special handle. This variation will place more load on the outer fibers of the lats. 5. Try not to flare your elbows out to the sides; keep them close to your torso. This will increase the efficiency of the exercise. ANALOGUES
