3 main rules for glute training
Author: Hanna Yakovenko - fitness trainer. 1. Basic exercises are more effective for gaining muscle mass because they involve more muscle groups. These exercises also allow for training with heavier working weights and increasing loads, which contributes to greater energy expenditure and stimulates the body to adapt and develop muscles faster! Basic exercises for the glutes include various forms of deadlifts, squats, and lunges: However, if for some reason you cannot do these exercises, you can manage without them. Isolation exercises, such as: These are less energy-intensive. Therefore, to achieve good results from these exercises, you need to complicate them in various ways:
It is also important to remember that any exercise must be done technically, engaging the right muscles and disengaging the unnecessary ones. For example, in squats, you should try to perform the movement using your glutes and engage the front of your thighs as little as possible. For this, you need to know all the nuances of performing the exercise and properly select your working weight. Because if the weight is more than needed, then no matter how hard you try, all possible muscles will be engaged. 2. Recovery period is very important, as muscles do not grow during training; they are damaged and broken down. Muscle growth occurs during rest, which is why frequent training is not effective. If your muscles are sore after the previous training, then there is no point in doing a full workout now, but you can do a warm-up without weight to improve circulation and speed up recovery. Good sleep and nutrition are essential for proper muscle recovery. On average, you should train your glutes twice a week; sometimes once is enough, depending on the working weight you use and how much you strain your muscle fibers. A good indicator of recovery is progress in your workouts. For example, if the weight you squatted with last month feels much lighter now. Conversely, if workouts feel sluggish and you seem to have less strength, it is likely that recovery is incomplete, and in this case, good results will not be achieved. 3. Variety in workouts. It is recommended to periodically change your workout program because muscles adapt to the same load and stop growing as there's no longer a necessity. It’s important to periodically surprise your muscles, giving them a stimulus for growth and development. 1. To do this, you need to change exercises, the number of repetitions, the order of exercises, the speed of execution, the amplitude of the movement, and the working weight. 2. For example, you can do squats with dumbbells, with a barbell, or in a machine. 3. Do 15 repetitions with heavy weight and add 25 repetitions with light weight. 4. Also, you can sometimes perform slowly or jump maximally from a squat. 5. Occasionally, do squats at the beginning of the workout, and sometimes after all the glute exercises. 6. You can also sometimes rise from a squat halfway or lower yourself only partially and hold a pause at the point where the muscles are maximally tense. 7. Additionally, you can do squats in a superset with another exercise. It is also recommended to train in cycles. For example, for a month increase the working weight, then take a week off. Start the new cycle with a lighter weight and gradually increase it to the maximum over the course of the next month. In conclusion, to effectively build your glutes, you should focus on complex basic exercises while performing them with proper technique. It is also crucial to recover fully and periodically change your training program! SIMILAR ARTICLES
