This short note is dedicated to a simple yet effective way to regain a lost ability. At birth, we could all drink milk in any quantity without any issues. However, as we age, most people lose this ability. Milk becomes difficult to digest, and individuals lose an important part of their nutritional base, which is a source of high-quality protein and fat, calcium, and many vitamins.

Most often, the ability to digest milk is lost after an illness or a prolonged (at least a month) absence of dairy products in the diet. There is also the case of genetic lactose intolerance, but this is rare in Europe and Russia. In such situations, lactose intolerance appears and progresses slowly, often since childhood or adolescence, and is not treatable.

The reason for lactose intolerance, in general, and milk intolerance in particular, is that the number of lactobacilli in the intestines has decreased so much (often nearly to zero) that they cannot process the amount of lactose you've consumed.

Thus, this problem is a specific manifestation of dysbiosis. The extinction of beneficial microflora can occur under two circumstances:

  • toxic exposure;
  • prolonged deprivation of their nutritional base - lactose.

Accordingly, to restore the function of milk digestion, it is necessary to replenish the population of lactobacilli and create conditions for their normal functioning.

Restoring the population is not difficult; there are special preparations – probiotics. All of them contain various types of bifidobacteria that inhabit the intestines and not only aid in digestion but also create an environment conducive to the survival of other beneficial bacteria.

We will use two such preparations – bifidumbacterin and Linex. This choice is due not only to the high quality of these products but also because they contain different types of bacteria, which act slightly differently. Bifidumbacterin is best purchased in sachets, taken at 1 sachet twice a day 30 minutes before meals. Linex should be taken at 1-2 capsules 3 times a day, simultaneously with bifidumbacterin.

After a few days of starting this therapy, begin to drink these medications, first with boiled milk, then with raw milk, gradually increasing the amount of milk from 100-200 grams per day to a liter or even more. The milk will start to be digested properly thanks to the increased population of the bacteria necessary for this process.

After completing the course of probiotic treatment, milk will be digested normally, but it must be consumed continuously, without breaks longer than two days. This is necessary to maintain a good nutritional base for the lactobacilli so that their population does not decrease. Otherwise, there is a risk of returning to the original state, and you will have to start all over again.

Sample one-month course to restore the ability to digest milk

From the author

I have been prone to dysbiosis since childhood, and it appears every few years. I have lost the ability to digest dairy products three times, but the therapy described always helped. When I am okay, I typically drink about 3 liters of milk a day, and everything is great. As they say, it's tried and true. Good luck to you too!
