Vitamins are divided into 2 large groups: fat-soluble and water-soluble. The latter includes B and C vitamins, while all others are fat-soluble.

Fat-soluble vitamins have the beneficial property of accumulating in the tissues of the human body and internal organs. The main reservoir for them is the liver, which stores these reserves. When there is a deficiency of certain vitamins, it activates its supplies. Due to the presence of reserves, the dosages of vitamins in this group in vitamin complexes are usually not very high.

Water-soluble vitamins cannot be accumulated and stored in the body; they are used as they come in, and any excess (if any) is excreted in urine.
