Effectiveness

These BCAAs belong to the 2:1:1 ratio (in terms of leucine / iso-leucine / valine). They are used for the following purposes.

  1. Muscle recovery after workouts. Leucine, iso-leucine, and valine are the 3 essential amino acids that are primarily found in muscles. Therefore, consuming BCAAs can accelerate their recovery.
  2. Muscle preservation while cutting or losing weight. This is possible because of the same nuance mentioned above.
  3. Muscle growth. However, BCAAs are only 3 amino acids. Therefore, if you only take them, it may not work. Hence, BCAAs work well for muscle growth in conjunction with a weight gainer.

How to Take

Here are the main rules for taking:

  • Regardless of the number of workouts, it is better to take them every day.
  • Take 1-2 times a day (depending on your financial capabilities). Since BCAAs are quite an expensive supplement. Once in the first half of the day, and another in the second.
  • Taking before, after, or during a workout is not critical. Personally, I take them in the morning and after a workout (or in the evening).
  • If you drink protein every day twice, then in this case, there is no need to separately buy BCAAs. Since whey protein typically contains 15 - 17% BCAAs.
  • To achieve results, the duration of intake should be at least a month.
  • The maximum duration of intake is without restrictions. This means you can take them for a lifetime without breaks.

Daily Dosage:

  • For a weight up to 60 kg: 10 - 14 grams (if taken twice a day, then 5 - 7 grams at a time).
  • For a weight up to 80 kg: 14 - 18 grams (if taken twice a day, then 7 - 9 grams at a time).
  • For a weight up to 100 kg: 18 - 22 grams (if taken twice a day, then 9 - 11 grams at a time).
  • For a weight over 100 kg: 22 - 25 grams (if taken twice a day, then 11 - 13 grams at a time).

Naturally, all dosages are approximate. And they depend on your overall activity, number of workouts, how much or little protein you consume from regular food, etc.

I advise ignoring the dosage indicated by the manufacturer. Manufacturers almost always underestimate dosages (sometimes several times). This is done to make you think that you're getting a larger package that will last you a long time. In this case, you are much more likely to buy.
