Sustanon and Omnadren: comparison of the drugs and administration scheme

In my article “Omnadren-250 – dosages, pros, and cons of use,” I noted that this drug is often considered an analogue of Sustanon-250. Of course, there are some grounds for this. However, before we understand how serious these grounds are, we need to examine Sustanon in more detail.

Composition of Sustanon -250

Sustanon, or simply "sust," consists of four testosterone esters:

• Testosterone propionate 30 mg;
• Testosterone phenylpropionate 60 mg;
• Testosterone isocaproate 60 mg;
• Testosterone decanoate 100 mg.

Brand names for the drug include Durandron-250, Sustaretard-250.

Thanks to the combination of components presented in the drug, sust quickly begins its work in the user’s body and remains active for a long time. Therefore, and also because the drug has a strong androgenic-anabolic effect, the user experiences a decent increase in strength and muscle mass with relatively little water retention and slight aromatization.

Another advantage of Sustanon is that it works well at relatively low dosages, even for experienced users. This is not something you often find among anabolic steroids.

Dosages of Sustanon -250

As for dosages, 250 - 500 mg per week is quite acceptable, even if you decide to use this drug as the only one in your cycle. If you plan to add something else, you can manage with just 250 mg per week.

Side Effects of Sustanon -250

The side effects of Sustanon-250 are similar to those of other testosterone compounds:

• acne,
• aggressiveness;
• increased libido;
• hair loss;
• increased sebaceous gland activity;
• reduced natural testosterone production;
• liver strain;
• water retention;
• gynecomastia.

Practice shows that the various side effects, when the drug is used sensibly, either manifest to a minimal degree or do not manifest at all. Still, for individuals with significant water retention issues in the body or with high levels of estrogens, it is advisable to additionally take anti-estrogens with Sustanon. For example, Nolvadex or Proviron.

As for the common advice to take gonadotropins at the end of a Sustanon cycle (allegedly to normalize the level of one's own testosterone), my personal experience shows the complete hopelessness of this manipulation. And of course, Sustanon-250 is not at all for women. Nor is it for beginning enthusiasts of pharmacology. That’s basically all the most important information about Sustanon. Let's move on.

Comparison of Sustanon and Omnadren

If you are familiar with the description of Omnadren-250, you will not see significant differences in composition and effectiveness. However, in practice, these drugs do act differently. Even if you use the same dosages, you will notice that Sustanon is "nicer" to use than Omnadren. It "works" more gently. Let’s try to figure out why this is the case.

Let’s look at the composition of both drugs. The number of testosterone esters is the same in both. These esters enter the bloodstream sequentially in the same manner. However, what are these esters? Here there are differences. And such differences that can be confusing. Different authors describing Sustanon-250 use absolutely identical names for the esters contained in this drug. In the case of Omnadren-250, however, it varies widely.

In preparing this article, I was fortunate to find the following names of testosterone esters that are included in Omnadren:

• Testosterone phenylpropionate;
• Testosterone propionate;
• Testosterone isocarprate, or isocaproate;
• Testosterone caproate or hexanoate.

As we can see, the first two esters in both preparations are identical. However, the third and fourth esters of Omnadren have as many as three variations. Anyone could get confused by this. This is despite the fact that all sources indicate that Omnadren differs from Sustanon by only one ester.

To finally clarify this issue, I turned to the packaging of the original manufacturers (Organon – Netherlands and Jelfa - Poland). What I discovered is presented below in the table and in the photographs.

One does not need to be an advanced specialist to see differences not only in the active ingredients but also in the excipients. In my opinion, it is precisely the differences in the composition of these preparations that allow Sustanon to work gently, yet confidently and effectively. Whereas Omnadren acts confidently and effectively, but without the gentle touch.

There may be a certain synergistic effect from the interaction of the esters that results in these practical differences in the performance of the drugs—not just the quality of production that most authors tend to blame.

Moreover, currently, it is nearly impossible to talk about the quality or originality of the drug. Let alone indicate that production in Poland is weaker than that of Pakistan, Egypt, or India. By the way, the Indian Sustaretard-250, which many dealers praise as a complete analogue of Sustanon, produces no fewer side effects—if not more—than Omnadren. It's also extremely painful when injected. Overall, the other products from B.M. Pharmaceuticals are either ineffective fakes or work very poorly.

With such a multitude of nuances, it's natural to wonder what to choose in order to avoid side effects and still get the desired results from the drug. I will try to answer by presenting my own position.

Usage Scheme

No matter how much is said that testosterone is the same everywhere and only differs in duration, practice shows that the different testosterone esters work differently, and the effects vary. Especially when they interact, as in Sustanon and Omnadren.

That is why, at one time, a scheme of combining Sustanon and Omnadren within the same cycle was tested (see table below).

As seen in the table, the total dosage of the drugs per week does not exceed 500 mg, which minimizes possible side effects. Additionally, alternating injections somewhat softens the harsh effects of Omnadren. However, I will reiterate that both Sustanon and Omnadren are not very convenient for use “solo.” This scheme is suggested as an example and "prototype."

Conclusions

1. Sustanon-250, along with Omnadren, is one of the most powerful drugs for gaining mass and strength in powerlifting and bodybuilding.

2. Sustanon differs from Omnadren in that it has a relatively gentle action.

3. Despite its "gentle" action, Sustanon is just as effective as Omnadren.

4. The interaction of the components in Sustanon makes the side effects of the drug overall less pronounced.

5. The optimal dosage of Sustanon is 250 – 500 mg/week.

6. To reduce the side effects associated with Sustanon-250 intake, it is advisable to take anti-estrogens.

7. Like Omnadren, Sustanon is contraindicated for women.
