The use of testosterone in medical practice in European countries, as well as in the USA, has long become the norm. It is prescribed as hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It is also used to treat a number of diseases associated with age-related changes or low testosterone levels. The drug has been in use in medicine for a very long time, but the general public is not well informed about its purposes and applications.

Testosterone is actively used in cases of arthritis, arthrosis, and bone fragility. It has long been proven that this hormone directly affects the health of bones and joints. It is capable of supporting and restoring cartilage tissue.

1. Osteochondrosis is a degenerative change in cartilage tissue. It is very common among middle-aged people, with the most cases occurring in those 30 years and older. Nowadays, it is not rare for young people to be affected by this condition. Moreover, the longer a person is exposed to a deficiency of this hormone, the faster the disease progresses. Therefore, it is crucial to maintain a normal hormonal balance in the body so that all its systems remain healthy.

2. Arthritis is just as well-known to people as osteochondrosis. Joint arthritis is a very dangerous condition that involves the destruction of the protective layer. Bones begin to rub against each other, synovial fluid diminishes, leading to pain and unpleasant cracking sounds. If treatment is not started in time, irreversible damage is guaranteed. In such cases, surgeries and joint replacements with artificial joints are common.

3. Osteoporosis is a treacherous disease that can progress unnoticed, and as long as all bones are intact, a person may not realize what is happening in their body. People usually find out about it when they end up in a hospital bed after a fracture resulting from what seems like a minor fall. There was a case where a husband simply hugged his wife, and she ended up with a broken rib; he hardly even touched her. It is very important to monitor one's health and undergo regular medical examinations. Taking timely measures is essential, and even better, engaging in preventive practices.

4. Dystrophy is a disruption of cellular metabolism, and this condition can develop for various reasons:

  • Genetics.
  • Poor nutrition.
  • Various diseases affecting metabolic processes (immune deficiency).
  • Digestive problems (GIT).

Testosterone and other analogs of male hormones have proven to be highly effective in these cases. They enhance metabolic processes, normalize body weight, improve immunity, and also contribute to increased physical strength and endurance. It is especially important to conduct treatment for the elderly. All of the aforementioned diseases are most often age-related or occur when a person has been diagnosed with hormonal deficiency at a young age.

5. Infertility is treated with hormonal medications, particularly testosterone or drugs that stimulate LH and FSH. To be clearer, they stimulate the production of gonadotropin, which in turn affects testosterone production. Gonadotropin is used to treat infertility in both men and women. Treatment is usually lengthy, lasting from 3 months and beyond. However, there is a downside: the use of HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) suppresses the production of one's own hormone, as well as testosterone from external sources. After stopping the medication, one will need to take drugs that stimulate testosterone or gonadotropin production.

6. Impotence is a condition with many different factors, but it is most often associated with low testosterone levels. The sexual organs are directly dependent on this hormone. When testosterone is produced in sufficient amounts, it stimulates blood flow to the genitals and dilates blood vessels. It also affects sexual arousal and the desire for the opposite sex in men.

7. Oligospermia, this point can also be related to infertility, but fortunately, it is easier to deal with. This condition is characterized by a reduced quantity of sperm (ejaculate). Not only is the amount of seminal fluid diminished, but also the quality and quantity of spermatozoa. To improve the condition, testosterone treatment is prescribed, along with the use of propionate or enanthate ester, with HCG medications also possibly being used.
